The only time I actually felt unconditional love was when I fostered kittens.. all 29 of them .... have not done it in a long time...
Was walking home the other day and I heard a faint familiar squeal that was not complete ... the first thought - Its a kitten !! and its nearby !! :)
I've debated this thought a hundred thousand times before but I told myself I have to do it... So I called out and there was a response.. on the other side of the road... This little not so scrawny kitten ... ginger and white .. about 3 months old .. tail upright, looking straight at me... I call out again and it starts running towards me oblivious of the oncoming traffic.
God bless the guy who slammed the brakes in time .. I ran across the road and picked up the kitty .. thanked the guy for braking and crossed the road with the kitten close to my chest ...his heart was beating fast ... I held him closer and said it will be ok ..... and in less than 10 steps he was purring :)
Carried him all the way home, up in the lift and opened the front door and said: "Welcome home kitty!"
Placed him down and went straight to the fridge and poured him some milk in a bowl ... O damn, tats when I realised that I have missed a cat creating mayhem when its food is being served :)
Well behaved kitty didn't drink it all up .. he somehow knew the milk was there for him to drink later when he wanted. He followed me to the sitting room and climbed on the couch and curled up on my lap for an hour or more... took a video of him purring away like a rotary fan :P
.. O yes! How can I forget, he was a dirty kitty but adorable :)
He purred on my lap and slept for an hour only to wake up and chase a lizard on the ceiling ... took a video of this too :)
Then he decided he wanted to pee ! he went to the front door entrance and started wailing and I was like whoa!! Wait, let me take you downstairs .. the moment he was in my arms, he started purring again :)
Took him downstairs and out of the building and to the end of the street where this construction is on and put him down on the mountain of sand and yes :) he dug his hole and attended to his business :P and then.. a naughty kitty again... got all frisky and started running around the street .. but every time I called him, he would come back to me .. Felt like a momma cat again after all these years :) about 7 years now.....
